Artemiranda,
more than a Fine Arts Shop
Daniel Miranda Melchor
For the Miranda family, Artemiranda is an extension of ourselves. It carries our DNA and reflects our unique way of seeing and understanding life. It's not something that can be separated or detached from us, for better or for worse.
We believe that the most valuable assets of a family business are its employees, suppliers, and customers. That's why one of our main goals is to enhance the quality of life for our team, nurture loyal and committed relationships with our suppliers, and deliver top-notch service to our customers.
In these uncertain times we live in, we want to promote our way of understanding life and business. We believe it is important as not all companies are the same, nor do they adhere to the same principles. It's not that these principles are better or worse, but they are certainly not the same.
The fundamental principle by which we make business decisions is simple: treat employees, customers, and suppliers the way we would like to be treated. This approach is reflected in the following commitments:
Personalised Customer Service:
The foundation of our company is a traditional shop centred on service and customer care. My grandfather Ángel Miranda used to repeat the phrase, ‘You should give the customer rabbit for cat, not cat for rabbit,’ turning the old Spanish saying on its head to emphasize delivering more than expected.
In 1999, my father, Javier Miranda, took a leap of faith and transformed our traditional shop into a 21st-century business by moving from a physical shopfront to an online platform, all while staying true to our core values. Today, with the same initial spirit of Ángel Miranda in 1922, Javier Merino and Susana Martín on the web, Álvaro Santamaría and Álvaro Perote in the shop, continue to provide expert guidance and address daily questions and challenges, just as we have been doing for more than a hundred years.
The key to our customer service lies in the expertise of our team: five members hold degrees in Fine Arts, two have degrees in Art History and over 50% of our staff possess extensive and up-to-date knowledge across various artistic fields. When this expertise isn't enough to resolve a client’s query, we consult with some of the world's leading professionals.

Brushes Always in Good Condition
Each brush has its designated spot in the automated warehouse, preventing any manipulation and ensuring that it arrives in the same condition as it left the factory.
Committed
to art and artists
Since 1956, when we sponsored the first Koiné avant-garde group of young artists, Artemiranda has always believed that supporting artists is essential. That’s why we collaborate with them (artists). We also participate in and sponsor hundreds of artistic events worldwide, ranging from Peru to Ukraine and Italy, with especially strong collaborations with Spanish artistic groups.
Socially Responsible
we care about well-being
Collaboration with NGOs and Solidarity Projects:
We believe that a portion of our profits should be returned to society through cooperations with humanitarian organisations. That’s why we collaborate with or have supported organisations such as the Red Cross, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients and FML (Spinal Cord Injury Association). We have also donated gloves during the first wave of COVID and provided direct assistance to those affected by the La Palma volcano, etc.
Work-Life Balance:
As a father of three, I fully understand the importance of having hours outside of work to enjoy family time, pursue personal growth and explore other interests. For this reason, our employees work morning shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility in many cases to adjust their hours if needed, except in the physical shop, where continuous work hours are not currently possible. Remote work was introduced during lockdown and has been established in a hybrid format for a significant portion of our staff, helping to save time, reduce commuting costs, and facilitate work-life balance.
Fair Working Conditions:
At Artemiranda, we believe that the best thing that can happen to our company is for great employees to stay with us. For three generations, we have cared for our team to ensure their loyalty, which is why 100% of our employees are permanent staff. 100% of the company's profits are reinvested to become increasingly competitive and efficient, thereby securing the future for all our workers. We understand that everyone’s life circumstances change over time, which is why we strive to adapt to the individual needs of each of our employees at every stage. Although men currently represent 60% of the workforce, women are the majority in decision-making positions. We consider taxes to be a fundamental component of a welfare state, to which we must all contribute according to our means. As a result, our salaries are 100% compliant with tax regulations, and our working hours align with the collective bargaining agreement. We care about the health, comfort and well-being of our workers. Work should not be a risky or harmful activity. Therefore, we have invested nearly €6,000 in ergonomic anti-fatigue mats to alleviate leg strain, provided height-adjustable desks to ensure optimal ergonomics, and installed heating in warehouses with eight-meter-high ceilings and a surface area of 1,500 m². Bulky goods are moved and lifted using carts, pallet jacks or electric stackers to minimize the risk of injury.
Environment
and Sustainability
Aware of the importance of the environment, we have implemented a series of energy efficiency initiatives in recent years, outlined below, aimed at conserving water and electricity while significantly reducing waste and our overall environmental impact:
An investment of €60,000 in the installation of 50 solar panels and a pioneering smart storage system in Spain, which allows us to achieve 98% self-sufficiency for half the year and 70% for the other half.
An investment of €7,000 in a cardboard die-cutting machine that enables us to reuse 100% of the cardboard received in our warehouse, which we then use as filler for our packages.
Most of our packaging is made in Salamanca or in neighbouring provinces using recycled cardboard, thereby reducing transportation costs and environmental pollution.
We reuse 100% of the packaging and filler materials we receive from our suppliers, which is why you may occasionally find Porex balls or air bubbles in our shipments. While we may not prefer them, we choose to give them a second life rather than discard them.
We separate, recycle or reuse most of the waste that arrives at our facilities.
We strive to reduce the use of plastic in shipments. However, when it's not feasible due to logistical or product safety reasons, we try to ensure that it can be easily separated for recycling.
Our main material suppliers also adhere to non-discriminatory eco-friendly policies that promote a healthy relationship with the environment.
We work with environmentally committed transport companies such as GLS, DHL, SEUR, UPS and the Spanish Post (Correos).
We do not include paper documentation in our shipments, everything is sent by email.
We have created an Outlet section to sell discontinued or defective material, helping to prevent waste.
For these reasons and more, it is not surprising that many of our customers place their trust in us. They know that behind the name Artemiranda is a company that values human and social principles, where the people assisting them have names and faces, and will continue to be there in the future, remembering them and providing personalized, exclusive service.
And for choosing us, we can only express our gratitude and our commitment to continue working hard to improve every day.
Thank you very much!
